I’m still here!

I'm still here!

Wow, painfully remiss as usual with keeping things updated. I have been busy with finals for this semesters, as well as an annual juried exhibition at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, applying for internships and just making art. So here is a little update, of an animal drawing session. Soon I will get a picture of the final piece!

Adventures in lithography

Adventures in lithography

Here is the first lithograph I draw and printed. It’s certainly not fabulous and I had no idea whatsoever how the etches were working at all. After a semester of litho it’s a little less confusing, but I still need a lot of time to figure it out.

Studies in perspective

Studies in perspective

I have been thinking a lot about exploiting space in my drawings this semester. I think maybe one of the easiest and hardest ways to do this is to try and use perspective and structure effectively. So that is what I have been focusing on in any extended drawings.

Also, today is my birthday!

Last semester we did a lot of studies relating to the cannons of proportion and the bone structure of the skeleton.

Some changes

Soon some changes will be happening here hopefully. I have been woefully remiss in updating regularly, as well as changing some things around in the layout of this site.

Starting in the near future there will be regular updates once a week on saturday.

Still life/perspective study

Still life/perspective study

Study from last semester. Looking back on it I can already see a lot of weaknesses that could have pulled the drawing together as a whole but instead are doing the opposite. Not to mention inaccuracies in the drawing itself. So I guess art school is doing it’s job.

Since I am at school full time now, some of these drawings/sketches/paintings and prints that are posted here will be offered for sale. Hopefully in the near future I will get a webshop going, but until then if you are interested in purchasing something, please shoot me an email at mlwebbfineart@gmail.com
